Rules
1. Bring to Alan’s 1HR Photo a negative, a 35mm slide, or a memory card or digital storage media such as a photo CD with a photo on it taken by YOU during the last year. Alan’s Photo will enlarge the image to 8x10 or 8x12. ONLY images enlarged at Alan’s Photo SINCE October 1, 2009 are eligible. The images may have been taken earlier in the year, though. Enter as many as you like, as often as you like. Enlargements MUST be paid for at time of entry.
2. Sponsors, or their immediate families or employees are NOT eligible to win the awards that THEY THEMSELVES sponsor. They are allowed to enter and compete for prizes of other sponsors, though.
3. Contestants shall not pick up entries until the contest is over and winners have been publicly displayed in the Bank of Star Valley. Each contestant agrees to allowing to have their print displayed in public, on the Internet and to be published in the paper without any royalties or fees charged for doing so. All entries must be picked up within 30 days following the contest or they may be discarded.
4. Entries must be received no later than 5 p.m. Tuesday, December 1st. at Alan’s Photo in Afton, WY.
5. Alan’s Photo retains the right to reject a photo based on subject matter that would not be suitable viewing by adults and children of all ages.
6. Alan’s Photo retains the right to make rulings and judgments on any matter of dispute that may arise and are not covered by these rules.
Entries shall be entered in 1 of 2 categories: Beginner-Amateur or Professional-Serious Amateur. Professional-Serious Amateur shall be defined as anyone who has won a $100.00 or more prize in our contest since 2008, or who has sold any photograph for over $100.00 or who has ever had a photograph published in any national or regional publication. Beginner-Amateur is anyone who is not covered by the Professional-Serious Amateur definition.
Judging will in some cases be done by the sponsor of the prize, others by well qualified judges chosen by Alan’s Photo.
